One-day Guided Analysis Workshop

This hands-on workshop is specifically designed to provide participants with fast results and an immediate payback. This is accomplished with a full session devoted to performing team-oriented DFMA analyses and redesign on participants' individual company products. Participants leave the workshop with a new vision of ways to improve the manufacturing efficiency and quality of their own products and appreciate why DFMA is an important part of the design process.

Design IV's services can be tailored to meet your specific needs - from the length of time required to accomplish different goals on specific products (typically, a workshop team can address most design challenges pre4sented to DFMA can be addressed in one to three days).

Agenda

This is a typical agenda for a one day DFMA Guided Analysis featuring DFA analysis of a small product or subassembly:

  • Introduction to DFMA.
  • Overview of the software features and functions.
  • Brief introduction to Design for Assembly.
  • Benchmark analysis of your product or assembly.
  • Brainstorming ideas for the purposes of redesign
  • Redesign analysis of your product to show potential savings
  • Printing of results for the team to take away from the workshop.

At the end of this one day session, you will be able to understand the benefits that DFMA can bring to your organisation, and you will have some tangible results with your own product to prove it. Please also note that we restrict the number of people at the workshop to four so that we can work more closely with the individuals present. Additional days can accommodate DFA analysis of larger products and DFM costing of products.

Deliverables

At the end of most sessions, concrete results will be achieved.  A roll-up of the total cost savings is typical, along with an outline of the next steps required to achieve them.

One-day DFMA ‘Guided Analysis’ Workshops are conducted onsite at your location for groups of up to six persons.
