DFMA
On-site Workshops
The pace of today's design-to-product launch cycles makes fast and
smooth implementation of new technologies a critical requirement for
manufacturing success.
Engineering teams need to work at learning to use technology much in
the same way they work on product development: simultaneously.
Our workshops aim to maximise the benefits of DFMA in
hands-on, on-site, focused sessions helping your teams quickly and
effectively use DFMA on their own products.
Immediate Results...Ongoing Support
The goal of
our workshops is to help customers achieve the powerful results of
DFMA quickly and permanently. We aim to accomplish this by combining
decades of DFMA research with the practical experience of DFMA
experts from industry.
DFMA is a proven tool for re-engineering the product development
process; our workshops are a proven path to success with DFMA.
1, 2, 3+ day Workshops
DFMA Workshops are presented in a hands-on format and help fulfill
several functions including training designs teams to use DFMA,
getting your company started on its first or next DFMA project and
helping CE teams learn new strategies for sustained success. The
process begins with overview sessions to help build management
support, then to coach participants through baseline analyses, of
the company’s own products using the proven written and software
approaches. A product
analysis exercise focuses initially on the concept stage and
continues by working with team members throughout the development
process to ensure significant DFMA results.
If you are just getting started with DFMA or looking to
improve upon current design processes, our workshops are an ideal
way to make your project a case-study success story and improve
profitability, quality and efficiency.
Workshop Benefits:
-
Trains teams in the principles and benefits
of DFMA strategies
-
Provides
a hands-on understanding and use of DFMA software on your own
products
-
Gives a
working knowledge of non-software DFA analysis
-
Encourages design creativity, teamwork and innovation
-
Participants gain a thorough understanding of the theories
behind DFMA along with awareness of case-study successes
-
Gives
team members a structured example of team use of DFMA
-
Helps
users realise immediate design improvements on their own
products.
Team’s use DFMA to Improve:
-
Overall product cost
-
Assembly and manufacturing
efficiency
-
Customer satisfaction
-
Product quality and reliability
-
Time-to-market launch cycles
-
Number of post-release design changes
Getting the Most from DFMA...
The main
objective of our workshops is to teach teams to apply DFMA as a
catalyst for ‘better products faster’. It is widely agreed that this
is best achieved using the DFMA software. Teams exercise their
knowledge by analysing either an existing product (including those
of a competitor) or a new design concept. Key developers including
management should attend the workshop and on the last day, review
DFMA design changes. Additional days are often recommended to aid in
the implementation of these changes.

workshops

One day
'Guided Analysis' Workshops.
The One-day Guided Analysis Workshop
is specifically designed to provide
fast results and immediate payback. It consists of a full day-long session devoted to performing
team-oriented DFMA analyses and redesign on your company's own
designs or products.
One
and Two day
'Core Training' Workshops.
The one
and two-day 'Core Training' workshops
are designed to progressively introduce
the full suite of DFMA tools to new users
of the DFMA software to help them get rapid results. The focus on the first day
is primarily Design for Assembly
and its application to your product. The
aim of the second day is to cover the different DFM Concurrent Costing
topics and the integration of DFM with DFA
through to a complete analysis of your product.
One,
Two & Three day
Implementation Workshops.
One, two and three-day
hands-on
workshops help teams quickly and effectively begin to use and
implement DFMA. Beginning with introductions to the DFMA
techniques and concluding with analyses of your own products,
it's the ideal way to begin integration of DFMA into your own
development process.
Additional time may be required depending on
product complexity and participant knowledge of both DFMA and of the
products to be analysed. As a result, workshops of any duration are available.
